HP StoreVirtual 4530 OS 11.5 VIP error out-of-network

Hello Community,

i have a problem and need your help.

Customer has existing StoreVirtual Infrastructure with OS 11.5 and we need to expand this with a new Node based on OS 12.5

In the guides is written that i can add a new node with OS 12.5 to cluster with nodes on 11.5

I have created an alb bond on the new node with the same settings in flow control section as the existing nodes.

Also i set the lefthand OS interface on the new node to the bond, i can see and ping all cluster management IP addresses, also the vip.

When i add the new node to the cluster i get the warning

VIP error, out-of-network no vip´s are reachable.
VIP error : System is not reachable by any VIP in the cluster.

But hte node is integrated in the cluster, i can see the utilization goes down from 98,8% to 64% and the restripe process for the volumes is started.

What is the problem with the new node?

Hello Frank,

when we got a Virtual IP error is related with network misconfiguration.

Please verify that all VSA storage nodes have the same network configuration, particualarly network interafaces (Lefthand OS, management and ISCSI).

you can use the tool CMC >> Storge node >> Network >> ping to troubleshoot Nodes communications as soon as you can see ping reaching all storage nodes within cluster issue will be solved
