move vsa 8.5
Hello,
i have 2 servers, dl580 g5 with the following configuration.
one raid1 with the sc and vsa
one raid 1 empty.
i want to migrate the vsa from raid1 to the empty raid, but when i try to do that with spehere 4.0 (cold migration, only the datastore) the operation is timed out.
please any help.
or i must to delete the vsa and install again?

Re: move vsa 8.5
Have you tried to move only the VMDK at SCSI 1:0 ?
I have not tried it on ESX4, but on 3.5 it was not possible to move a single VMDK unless the VM config (.vmx & friends) was also moved.
If nothing helps, you can try to do a copy with "vmkfstools", detach the old VMDK and re-attach the copied VMDK on the new datastore.

Re: move vsa 8.5
Sure, you can delete the VSA, but then all data is gone!
So make a good backup before you touch it.
