Re: P4500G2 Fans running full speed

I am really convinced this is a bios issue.

Try this

Changing the value for the performance settings in BIOS resolved the fans running at high speed.

Enter the RBSU, select Power Management Options , HP Power Profile , set the value to different than Maximum Performance .

Hi Emilio, Thats one of the many things HP asked me to check.

They also sent me photo's of the motherboard and asked me to remove all the jumpers on the J27 and J16 jumper blocks. (see attachment)

Emilio,

I have also checked the bios settings before posting and even tried to change them to maximum performance and back to see if it triggered anything but there was no difference. All bios settings and firmware versions are the same on all 4 nodes but only one behave like this. What finally convinced me of a problem with the fan speed sensors was that the system thinks the fans are running at 47% when they really are closer to 80%. Twice as loud as normal nodes running at 50%.

HP did not find anything either so they are replaceing the motherboard.

Appreciate your time though.
