P4530 SNMP - Terminating SNMP agent, logging out from storage units
LS,
Just finished configuring new 2-node P4530 cluster, including SNMP. We have been using Cacti (for performance purposes) on other Lefthand hardware, like P4500G2, DL320s and even VSA clusters using different versions of SAN/iQ.
The P4530 cluster is in a dedicated Management Group using LefthandOS 10.5.
Problem can easily be reproduced by running the following command from a unix system and have the CMC opened concurrently.
# snmpwalk -v 2c -m all -c public <ip-address> .1.3.6.1.4.1.9804.3.1.1.2.1
The SNMP agent will be terminated and you are kicked out from the storage units. The command ends with Error in packet. Reason: Unknown error.
This happens while the information of the P420i storage controller is accessed.
Anyone else experiencing this problem as well?

Re: P4530 SNMP - Terminating SNMP agent, logging out from storage units
We have the same problem with P4330 monitored by cacti , we can monitor the cluster level but not the node level.
If we try to query the nodes directly the snmp daemon die

Re: P4530 SNMP - Terminating SNMP agent, logging out from storage units
Hello Cees,
I opened a case at HP about 5 weeks ago and spoke with an engineer about.
He was able to reproduce the problem by accessing the storage unit via a
backdoor mechanism. Using this method he was able to become root user
on the unit, where he issued the snmpwalk command. The command indeed
terminated with an error and we were kicked out off the Management Group.
He promised me to escalate this to Engrg.
I will check later on this weekend to see if there is any progress.
We saw this the first time when we used Cacti to produce performance reports.

Re: P4530 SNMP - Terminating SNMP agent, logging out from storage units
Hi Gert,
Interesting because HP told me there is no other customer with the same issue.
At the moment the case we have open is being escalated.
