Storage SV3200 lost access to management IP

I lost access to the management after changing IP and removing bonding.  Can someone show me how to reset the ip address?

I am able to access the 4 serial ports through mini USB.  I have prompt for SEP:A, ESP:A, CLIQ, IAP mode but I am not sure what to do from there!!!

Opened a case with HPE but tech say he needs to do some research and will call me back.

Help!!!

Re: Storage SV3200 lost access to management IP

For serial access you get 4 COM ports.

Connect to the 3rd port out of them, 115200 baud.

Log on and do

getnsminfo

look for the eth4 entry, this should be your management IP address.

Hope this helps!

Re: Storage SV3200 lost access to management IP

Thank you for the quick reply.

I am now able to gain access to the 2nd controller via web browser.  However, I am not able to access the 1st controller to set the correct IP addresses.  Serial #3 on the  1st controller will go through its post if the whole unit is rebooted.  After a while, it stops and won't get to a login prompt.  The other three serials seems to be fine.  How can I set the correct IP addresses?

Also, I get this error

Manager status is normal, Controller is currently serving all the data, Store process state is normal, VIP error: The virtual Ip address (VIP) cannot be hosted by an network interface on a storage controller.  THe VIP must be on the same network as a storage controller and must be able to be hosted on one of the storage controller's network interfaces.

HPE tech support still hasn't called me back yet.

See attached screenshots.

Thank you!

Jimmy

Re: Storage SV3200 lost access to management IP

Consider to go to the active controller and start a "restore peer".

Hope this helps!

Re: Storage SV3200 lost access to management IP

When I connect to the 2nd controller and try to do Restore Peer, it tells me that There are no storage controllers to restore.  However, failback storage controller option is available to rpbss4-SC1, status says Critical, should I try that?  Or is there another way to do it in CLIQ?

Should I try to power of everything and try to take out the 1st controller and turn it back on, shut it down again and put the 2nd controller back in and power back on somehow trigger it to detect not synced and therefore give me the option to Restore Peer?

Re: Storage SV3200 lost access to management IP

Would removing the battery from the controller help reset it?  The unit is currently not in production.  Brand new setup.

Re: Storage SV3200 lost access to management IP

You may try a quick restore.

A quick restore will set everything to default, data will be lost!

No problem for a new install, since there is no data, right?

Connect your serial console.

Download the software (version 13.6 or 13.5, depends on the already installed version)

https://h20392.www2.hpe.com/portal/swdepot/displayKioskProductsListNoneLogin.do?merchantID=STOREVIRTUAL3000_KIOSK&productNumber=SV3200_13.6

Copy the contents to an USB stick and connect it to the controller.

Pull and re-insert the controller, stop booting and select

Boot from USB thumb drive

Be aware!

In factory settings you have default IP at the MGMT ports, but once the setup is done, the management works over the iSCSI parts, depending on controller model.

Hope this helps!

Re: Storage SV3200 lost access to management IP

Try a different serial port.  It creates several serial ports when you connect the usb.  Make sure you connect to the right one.

Re: Storage SV3200 lost access to management IP

@RobertKabwogi.........Can you please provide more details about the issue that you are facing.

Do you want to reimage both Controllers in SV3200?

or

you want to perform restore peer?

What exactly is your requirement?
