SV3200 Tier Upgrade

I have 2 StoreVirtual 3200 SANs running 13.5 they are currently configured with SAS 10K drives. Can I add SSD drives to enable Disk Tiering and Adaptive Optimization on the fly, or would I need to reconfigure bothe SAN Nodes?
