VSA 1 TB Free License Error

We have bought 2 DL380 Gen9 with two 1 TB free Licences.

The machines have 8 300 GB Harddisks. We have used 3 for VMware and 5 (Raid5 + HS) for the VSA.

We have installed the VSA´s about the best practices of HP.

First we created a RAW Device over the 5 Harddisks for the VSA. Then we provisioned a 1 TB VMFS LUN to the VMWARE FARM.

I have registered the 1 TB Free Licences to the VSA´s without Problems.

When i open the CMC i see under registration that i have only a evaluation license.

What is the Problem ?

Re: VSA 1 TB Free License Error

you have to all license keys to CMC to get the SAN fully functional.  If you don't have the key, there is likely something you have to register online to get the final license key to install on the VSA to fully activate it.  It can be a little confusing because that is really done through CMC and not phyically on the node.

Re: VSA 1 TB Free License Error

I forgot to tell you that we have registered the licenses in the CMC for both VSA´s, sorry.

Re: VSA 1 TB Free License Error

sounds like the feature key didn't actually load in.  When you view the feature registration tab on each node, do you see a value in the feature key and license key fields?  I see the MAC address in the feature key field and then a long series of 4x ~30 hexadecimal numbers and then under that the feature list for the specific node shows a list of "licensed for..."  items.  If you don't have anything in the license key and feature key fields, you haven't successfully applied the keys.

Re: VSA 1 TB Free License Error

Looks to me like you have the instant-on license (60 days) and the 3 year free 1TB installed. The instant-on will expire, but the free 1TB will remain.
