Re: 16-port 10/100/1000 Module (J4907A) failure
I can easily discount that theory. I had gig modules failing on my test bench with no connections at all to the switch and/or with a simple connection to my network from a non-failing module.
Dispite my insistence that such a module failure should raise alarms, even with the 9.22 code it still does not. I have to scour through the syslog or the switch log to see the error, or physically visit the switch. If the module fails at any other time than at boot, or the failure does not cause the switch to reboot, then there is not even anthing in the logs to look at and a visit to the switch is required.

Re: 16-port 10/100/1000 Module (J4907A) failure
I see that some of my criticisms directed at HP have been censored which I guess is their prerrogative. I am sorry that I had to resort to using this forum to get action on my issues and will leave it to HP to add any footnote they wish to this thread I am now closing.
