A5120-24G-POE+ EI JG236A Bootloop
I picked up a 24 port A5120 model JG236A and when I powered it on it seems to have a bootloop issue. I took a video.
https://youtu.be/EBstzdApUJU that repeats every few seconds.
I switched to a heaver gauge power cord as the seller provided cord may not have been sufficient but that made no difference. I had intended it to be a home office switch powering my network and then POE security cameras.
I also do not have a console cable as I was hoping to just find and telnet into a DHCP active port.
I have an 8 port OfficeConnect 1820 and love it.. but wanted to expand.
Any suggestions? Or did I get a DOA item.

Hello,
Since you dont have the console cable, i would suggest you to rasie RMA with your provider
Or log a support case with HPE they may help you to break the boot loop , but here you still need console cable to login boot menu on the switch.

Re: A5120-24G-POE+ EI JG236A Bootloop
Hello, what is the HP part number for the cable? I cannot seem to find the exact part number and see three or four HP rj-45\db9 cables.
Is there a document that shows the pinout of both the RJ-45 end and the DB9 end?
Is there a USB console cable solution? (Or a usb\serial adapter known to work?)

Re: A5120-24G-POE+ EI JG236A Bootloop
Yup.. Read that manual.. There is no mention of the pinout. Just that there is a cable and to plug it in..
Here are what I found are part numbers for console cables.. What ones are compatible?
5066-3090
5184-1894
5188-3836
Even found this.. NOTE: Console Cable 5184-1894, 5182-4794, and F1047-80002 have the same pin
out. However, the 5183-7247 uses a different pin out and does not work with
all networking products and may be problematic.
There are even pinout documentation.. Just not for the A5120 series..

I also determined the cause of the boot loop was a failure of the middle fan in the power supply.
