Does anyone use the broad-cast limit feature ?
Do you know if there's a way to log or send an SNMP trap when it's enforcing the limit ?
Also, does the broadcast-limit only limit broadcast or multicast aswell ?
Regards,
Chris

Re: broadcast-limit on 5400zl
There are no alerts. The only way I've been able to detect that it triggers is by seeing Tx drops on the interface.
Do not set the value too low. The number of broadcasts is counted over a very short time interval and it can easily be triggered by a benign spike in ARP requests.
I originally deployed with a broadcast limit of 10% and had a lot of intermittent host unreachable problems. Since there was no way to monitor when it happens, I finally removed it. :-(
