Compatibility SFP+ and 10-Gbe X2-SC SR ??
Hi all,
As far as I 've can tell it's not possible to connect a SFP+ with a 10-Gbe X2-SC SR (j9150a<>j8436a).
I'm afraid I'm right ?
Thanx
Jaap

Re: Compatibility SFP+ and 10-Gbe X2-SC SR ??
Hello Jaap,
SFP+, X2and XEN Pack are formfactors of 10Gbe interfaces.
SFP+ uses LC connectors and X2 uses SC connectors.
I've got a working setup between Avid ISIS Interplay and a Cisco Catalyst 4948-10Gb.
Regards,
Michael

Re: Compatibility SFP+ and 10-Gbe X2-SC SR ??
Hi Jaap
This link should help you http://www.hp.com/rnd/support/faqs/10-GbE-trans.htm
J9150A = HP ProCurve 10-GbE SFP+ SR Transceiver
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/13285_div/13285_div.PDF
1 LC 10-GbE port (IEEE 802.3ae Type 10Gbase-SR); Duplex: full only
J8436A = ProCurve 10-GbE X2-SC SR Optic
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12987_div/12987_div.PDF
1 SC 10-GbE port (IEEE 802.3ae Type 10Gbase-SR); Duplex: full only
This should work. Just bear in mind you will need an LC-SC cable with the appropriate fibre specs.
