firmware update of HP Procurve 1800-24G J9028A

Hi,

I'm preparing to update some pretty old firmware on a HP Procurve 1800-24G J9028A (PB.02.03)

I've performed many firmware updates over the years, just not on an HP switch.

Are there any special procedures or caveats outside of the ordinary stuff like backing up the config first, not losing power, etc, that I should be aware of?

yes, just make sure you go through the latest release notes of the switch before you update the firmware.

Thanks for taking the time and effort to reply. I agree the release notes are important. It's good that they are rolled up with the firmware download.

i just upgraded my switch from 02.09 to 03.04 without any issues. I did a direct update after reading all the documentation. do backup the settings first though.. just in case any problems occur. :)
