FW Q.11.26 crashes 2510-24 switch
Hi all.
I just got a 2510-24 switch which came loaded with Q.11.17 software. I wanted to update to Q.11.26, which is the latest, but when I do, the switch becomes unresponsive on telnet and web agent interfaces.
The switch does forward packets, I just can't configure it anymore. It makes no difference if I load Q.11.26 in the primary or secondary or if I am running in the primary or secondary. Pings are slow too (approx. 14ms) on a direct connection.
The only way out is to restore Q11.17 in both images and factory reset the switch.
Very nasty.
Any ideas what is going on?
Best regards
Jens

Re: FW Q.11.26 crashes 2510-24 switch
Having restored, ping are bad in general: between 1 and 10 ms response, very often 1-2 timeouts per 4 pings.
Could I have a bad switch on my hands or are all 2510-24s like this?

Re: FW Q.11.26 crashes 2510-24 switch
After moving the switch onto a quiet branch on the network and then upgrading both firmware images from Q.11.17 to Q.11.26 (secondary first), the problem went away.
I don't know what caused the problem as I have frequently updated firmware on much heavier loaded switches.
Oh well ...
