IRF configuration not being accepted on HP A5120-24G-EI switch

Hi all,

Currently i'm try to configure an IRF for two HP5120-24G-EI switch.

On the Master switch, the configuration for both ports are completed succesfully

While i'm configuring the port 2/2 on slave switch it's prompting me an error as i attached here.

ERROR: Set IRF port fail. The port bound to IRF-Port2 must be larger than that of IRF-Port1!

Is any body facing this issue before?

I haven't seen it before but the error message seems clear enough to me:

You can't bind physical port 2/1/2 to 2/1 and 2/1/1 to 2/2, you have to do it the other way round.

Hi Richard,

Thanks for the advise, I have tried it and it's working now.

It seems like different models the IRF configuration method is slightly different.

Once again thanks.

The physical ports does not matter.

What matters is that the IRF ports are cross linked.

Port 1 from one member must hit port 2 on another member. :-)
