Lost Password
I have inherited two HP switches, a J4865A & J4813A models. Unfortunatley I was not given the user names or passwords for these units.
Is there a way of restting the unit back to factory default? As far I am aware there are no virtaul lans or anything set on them, they are just being used as straight switches.
Regards
Tim

Re: Lost Password
To clear the username and password you need to hold in the 'clear' button for a few seconds.
From there you can login and factory reset with 'erase startup-config' or you can use the front panel method:
Hold in reset
Hold in clear
Release reset
Wait for the self-test light to start flashing
Release clear
The manual for the 4100 is at:
