PCM+ 4 Update DNS Name

When I discovered the switches in PCM+ 4, I had not created DNS A or PTR records for most of them and 2 IPs had old out of date entries from previous switches. So at present for most switches the DNS field just shows the IP address or an out of date name.

I have now created DNS records for all our switches but I can not get PCM to update the DNS field.

I have tried manually running "Rediscover Devices" on them but it does not appear to redo the DNS lookup.

Is their anyway to force PCM to refresh this information without deleting and re-adding every device?

the PCM always asks for dns-name I checked it with wireshark.

How do u configured the device display name under preferences -> device access ?

try to delete and wait or manually rediscover the devices.

Check via sniffer if pcm does dns requestions and if it gets answers.

 In the end I just deleted the devices and discovered them again. This fixed the problem.
