Quick QinQ Question :)

Hi,
I have two 5406zl and a uplink of one Gbit between them.
Now i would like to use QinQ!

Can i use CVLANs & SVLANs on the same uplink or do i need two uplinks one for CVLANs and one for SVLANs???

hi Marcus

you can carry on one uplink all vlan with tagging

not:
for QinQ operation requires Premium License

Just to clarify - you want single tagged and double tagged over the same interface?

Re: Quick QinQ Question :)

QinQ is an Internet Provider Protocol. You and you ISP would have to agree on an SVLAN (Service VLAN) and you would pipe your other VLANs (CVLANs) through the SVLAN (ISP)to your other 5406, QinQ enabled, switch.

Re: Quick QinQ Question :)

I found the answer in the manual...

Assigning Ports to VLANs. In mixed vlan mode, a port can be a member
of a C-VLAN or of an S-VLAN but not both. For details, on assigning membership
to provider-based VLANs, see ├в Configuring Per-Port S-VLAN Membership├в
on page 8-14.

But how do you guys do when you only have ONE uplink between switches and need to run both QinQ(double tagged vlans) and regular vlans over this uplink???

Hi Marcus,

Did you ever resolve this problem if you only have one uplink?

Cheers
