Re: Secondary ip address on 5400/3500
Attempting to configure a secondary IP address to a VLAN on a HP 5400 series switch. There is a desire to configure a secondary IP address on the VLAN that is in the same subnet as the primary address since there are some older device still configured to use a different default gateway address. Since there does NOT appear to be an ip address assignment with a "secondary" option, I attempted the configuration provided a few years back but this does NOT appear to working (e.g. no backup option). The following configuration is not working
vlan 10
ip address 192.168.10.1 255.255.255.0
vrrp vrid 10
backup (this command does not exist)
virtual-ip-address 192.168.10.254
enable
I am currently running image K.15.18.006.
I would appreciate any assistance one can provide.
Thanks!
