VLANs configuration via messages

I would like to know if there exists any switch in which the association between the ports and the VLANs can be permormed by an exchange of messages of a certain protocol (propietary or non-propietary) through one of the ports. In other words, I would like to send messages to configure the VLAN-s instead of using a console (telnet) or a configuration application. I am interested in this option because we would like that one of our equipments connected to the switch could configure the ports of the switch with certain VLANs.
