Add 2 news disks on DL385G5
Hi,
I have (in emergency) to had 2 disk in my DL385G2 box. It's an Ingres production machine, and ofcourse no reboot permit. With the 2 news disks have to create a new mirror FS of around 40Go. How to do that ?
Is there a difference between SAS and Serail SCSI disks (P/N 432320-001)
Thx,
Eric

Re: Add 2 news disks on DL385G5
Hi Eric,
You can use the online Array Configuration Utility to create a new RAID1. You should have the ACU already installed if you have installed the Proliant Support Pack.
What is your OS?
SAS = Serial Attached SCSI
432320-001 = 146.0GB hot-plug Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) hard drive - 10,000 RPM, 2.5-inch form factor
Hope this helps.
Best regards,
Shiraj Fernando.

Re: Add 2 news disks on DL385G5
Hi Eric,
If your hard drives are connected to an HP Smart Array controller, you should be able to pop the drives in and use the Array Configuration Utility to create a new Array.
There would be no need to reboot the server for this procedure as the p/n you have mentioned are hot-plug SAS hard disks. Using this you can create a hardware mirror up to 146 GB.
Good luck!

Re: Add 2 news disks on DL385G5
