Autochanger on HPUX 11.31 - Safe to create legacy devices?
Folks,
We have EMC Legato Networker on an HPUX 11.31 host. The old silo existed before at HPUX 11.23. Now there's a new silo. "ioscan ; insf -e" created the new style agile devices but Legato can only use the old style devices so far.
Is it safe to create the legacy devices ont he fly? During the upgrade there was a sandbox host to mess around with. The silo is only on a big developer box.
Is there a specific set of switches to use on "insf"? I saw -N and a few others. I think I want to restrict it to "-C eschgr" or "-C chgr" for the autochanger not just to create legacy devices for everything.
I have legacy devices in place for disk that work great for Clariion BCV scripted stuff.
Thanx in advance!

Re: Autochanger on HPUX 11.31 - Safe to create legacy devices?
Run the command:
ioscan -m dsf
to locate the legacy device file names.
If your Networker version doesn't handle agile devices, do you know what other features in 11.31 do not work in Networker?
