Backup tape drive
I install in my rx 1620 integrity server a HP DAT 72 tape drive. No problems with hardware or scsi setting up. I have an old DDS3 tape from an old SunOS, I didn't to formated it without know the files inside that remains inside it.
I tried to listing the files with frecory:
# frecover -I /usr/local/mnt/devel/index -v -f /dev/rmt/0m
frecover(2105): did not find expected file marker
frecover(5409): unable to read volume header
frecover(5418): not an fbackup volume; unable to read volume header
frecover(2105): did not find expected file marker
frecover(5412): Do you wish to try to salvage this volume? (^[yY]/^[nN])
"Salvage" ? What is it? It means destroy the contents? Or reclain/retrieve the contents?

Do you think that "old SunOS" (whatever that means) had "fbackup" and
"frecover" programs? Did you try using "tar" (or some other program
which might have been used on "old SunOS") to read the tape?

"man frecover"? Who cares? If the tape was not made using
"fbackup", then I would not expect great wisdom about it from
"frecover". If you're worried about losing data on the tape, then
write-protect the thing before playing with it.
