Can insf -e be run on a live system?

Hello,

We are on a rx4640, running HP-UX 11.31.

Can insf -e be executed with users on the server or will it cause devices to fail?

You should not have any problems running it.

Shalom,

Don't run insf -e on Oracle ASM systems.

It can change the ownership of Oracle containers which will crash the database.

Otherwise it is quite safe.

There probably is a way around the issue above, but I crashed some dev databases using the command last summer.
