Re: Configure Persistent device for LUN/Disk in RHEL 4.5

I am not sure about RHEL. On SLES it used to be
/sbin/scsi_id -g -p 0x80 -s /block/sda
and that has changed to
/lib/udev/scsi_id --whitelisted --page=0x80 --device=/dev/sda
since SLES 11.

Re: Configure Persistent device for LUN/Disk in RHEL 4.5

Try this command instead (note: "block" not "dev"):

# scsi_id -g -s /block/sdm

(As the error message indicates, the "scsi_id ... -s" automatically prefixes /sys into the pathname you specify.)

Re: Configure Persistent device for LUN/Disk in RHEL 4.5

SO for those vMware disks -- it is NOT possible to have persistent device or friendly names under udev? No?

What are those DGC disks btw? Are those directly presented (via a Vmware virtual HBA?) or RDM (raw device mapped) disk?
