Configure Raid (0 or 1) on RX2620 Server

Actually our RX2620 do not support raid (the controler does'nt support).
How can we configure the raid in this case.
we want (if possible) a detailed procedure

Your only option is to use software RAID. RAID 0 is not advisable.

Shalom,

Your rx2620 CAN support raid if you purchase and install a P400 raid controller.

This is the best performance option.

Use Ivan's link for RAID 1. Raid 0 is a terrible idea.

Re: Configure Raid (0 or 1) on RX2620 Server

If you have all three hard drive bays loaded you could also setup a RAID 5 instead of a RAID 1. You would lose the capacity of one of the drives but you would gain a large amount of parity. I have RAID 5 setup on my ZX6000 in debian and am very glad I did it.

Just remember that if your setting this up you need to tell ELILO to delay mounting the disks until all of the scsi drives are enumerated. Its "delayroot=10" for delay mounting the root for 10 seconds. Otherwise the system may not boot because it can't find the hard disks. Not sure if its an issue with RAID 1 but it was a pain on RAID 5
