DVD fromatting issue

HI Gurus,

I tried to format a DVD using the following command
dvd+rw-format –force=full /dev/rdsk/c0t0d0

After a little over 30 seconds it quits with the error
:-[ FORMAT UNIT failed with SK=5h/ASC=26h/ACQ=00h]: I/O error

When running it claims to be version 4.8.

This is HP-UX 11.11 and i have dowloaded the tool from the following site.

What, exactly, is "/dev/rdsk/c0t0d0", and
what, exactly, was the "a DVD" which you
tried to use?

Note, too, that if you're looking for a
program which is fresher than "Date:
6/1/2005", then you might try:

http://cdrecord.berlios.de/private/cdrecord.html

I haven't tried it on HP-UX, but I believe
that it's supposed to work.

Hi Vic,
have you cross checked the RW-DVD Media?
Is it ok?
please check that media in other machine or OS to verify that media is in good condition.
