We currently have an EMC array tied to a K580 machine. We have a "new" N4000 machine coming in which will replace our K580.
We have 4 paths from the EMC array to the K580.
We want to take one of those paths and point it to the N4000.
Question: Given this setup, can I have the same file system mounted on both the K580 and N4000? I don't want to use NFS.
IE: /users/output mounted on both the K580 and N4000 from the same EMC device.

Solution
Hi David,
Question: Given this setup, can I have the same file system mounted on both the K580 and N4000?
No, you cannot mount the filesystem on both system at the same time, this will corrupt the filesystem.
You can however export the luns from your K560 and import them on the N4000. If you would like a more detailed help add info about the EMC array, HPUX version, powerpath, the file systems.
Hope this helps,
Robert-Jan

Re: EMC Array
Ok thanks Robert.
Thanks what I wanted to know.
I wanted to see if I could avoid the export/import route.
Thanks again,
Dave
