/etc/fstab mount option(s)

Not certain if this forum (SA), LVM or Security was the best location, but:

In the /etc/fstab file, when mounting NFS file systems, I have seen on "other" platforms a mounting option "nodev". I've searched the forums and see that this was addressed before, but the topic listings seemed years old.

Just wondering if anything has changed? Basically, I have a requirement to ensure that any file systems mounted via NFS (that also contain device special files) to disallow (potential) access to any local system devices.

Thx in advance for any/all replies.

Re: /etc/fstab mount option(s)

found an entry in the mount_nfs man page discussing the "nodevs" option.

Thx.
