Re: Failed disk in PVG Mirrored Group

Sagar,

first you have to check the lvols those are using the failed disk with pvdisplay -v. and break the mirror of all those lvols to isolate the faulty disk.

add new disk in VG with adding that in PVG VG00P and again mirror all those lvols you had removed mirroring.

Good Luck.

Re: Failed disk in PVG Mirrored Group

hi sagar,

Are the disks belogs to root VG?
Confirm that the failed disk is not boot disk.
#lvlnboot -v

Is the disk is mirrored?
Follow the below guide, which would help you in all the ways for disk replacemnt.
http://bizsupport2.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01911837/c01911837.pdf

If the disk device file of replacment disk is same as the failed disk, no concern about lvmpvg.
Else make an entry of new disk device file in the physical volume group by editing /etc/lvmpvg, then follow the procedure.

Re: Failed disk in PVG Mirrored Group

I have now successfully removed the disk.

But we have lost a lvol6 (/opt) and now I need to restore it from Ignite Image from Ignite Server

Apparently on the BCH console I'm unable to find the boot lan option for the V class 2600.

Please advise me the options to use to initiate a Network boot for V class server

Re: Failed disk in PVG Mirrored Group

Issue the BOOT LAN INSTALL command or the BOOT LAN.ip-address INSTALL command to boot over a network and perform an HP-UX installation.

The BOOT... INSTALL commands boot HP-UX from the default HP-UX install server or from the server specified by ip-address.

Re: Failed disk in PVG Mirrored Group

The boot lan.ipaddress install is not recognised by the BCH on v class server
