Hardware addressing in11.31
One of my server has 3 EVA LUNs allocated.Each LUN has 8 paths. Hardware path of 1st LUn is showing as ,
disk 34 64000/0xfa00/0x1 esdisk CLAIMED DEVICE online HP HSV210
0/7/1/1.0x50001fe1500c7e49.0x0
Note the lun id part in lunpath hardware path.
For other two LUNs it is showing as ;
disk 20 64000/0xfa00/0x2 esdisk CLAIMED DEVICE online HP HSV210
0/7/1/1.0x50001fe1500c7e49.0x4002000000000000
And the addressing mode for 1st LUN is "Peripheral Addressing" and for 2nd and 3rd is "Flat Space Addressing".
scsimgr is showing LUN ID as 0, 2 and 4 respecively for 1st, 2nd and 3rd LUN.
What is the difference between these addressing methods?
How does it change for the LUNs from the same storage?
How the LUN # (from scsimgr output ) is being assigned?
Thanks,
