hba not showing in ioscan output
Hello,
I am running hpux 11.31 on one of my blade server BL860C. Two no. of HBA card are installed on this server. But in ioscan output only one card is showing. I am sharing here the ioscan output.
root@houspip1:/>ioscan -fnC fc
Class I H/W Path Driver S/W State H/W Type Description
===================================================================
fc 0 0/3/0/0/0/1 fcd CLAIMED INTERFACE HP 403618-B21 4Gb Dual Port PCIe Fibre Channel Mezzanine (FC Port 2)
/dev/fcd0
Also when I am checking the logs one error is showing there regarding the other hba. It is as :
Nov 23 23:31:56 houspip1 vmunix: 0/3/0/0/0/0: Fibre Channel Driver Read bad NVRAM Header.
Can anyone please tell about this error and whether we have to update the firmware for this card.
If yes then what is the correct procedure to update the firmware on one card. Please specify if the issue is some other.
Thanx

Re: hba not showing in ioscan output
This is a single HBA with dual ports. You can see a single port only (port2) - this means port1 is dead, so this HBA is bad and needs replacement.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: hba not showing in ioscan output
As i mentioned in the log that the other port is showing that it reads bad NVRAN header. So is that mean the port is bad and the replacement is the only option? Is there some other method to rectify it?

Re: hba not showing in ioscan output
# fcmsutil /dev/fcd0 vpd
for more information, but I think the card is simply dead.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
