Re: help me create user account

Shalom,

http://www.yolinux.com/TUTORIALS/LinuxTutorialLDAP-BindPW.html

http://www.linuxtopia.org/online_books/suse_linux_guides/SLES10/suse_enterprise_linux_server_installation_admin/sec_ldap_yast_client.html

The link came from a google search.

However this command must be run on the LDAP master, not the LDAP client.

If the system is integrated to a Windows ADS/LDAP system, then create the user on that system not the Linux system.

Re: help me create user account

as per the url I can add user account using Yast.

for the "useradd -m --service ldap ... " command issue, I am sorry, that was pure my fault, I was providing wrong password.. when the

Enter LDAP Passwors:

but by providing the wright password of LDAP Administrator
# useradd -m --service ldap --binddn cn=Administrator,dc=test,dc=com user01
Enter LDAP Password:
Cannot find base ou for new users.
LDAP information update failed: Operations error

now you can see error changes.

Now I am facing a strange issue, i.e when I create an account on ldap server(via yast), I have to manually create a home directory for that user, and populate the home directory via copying the /etc/skell... I searched a lot but didnt find an option that will create home directory for ldap users(via yast2)
