How can i configure autoloder

Hi All,

I have HP 1/8 Auto loader G2
Part# is AJ816A AND OS is Susi Linux 9
WHEN I TAKE BACK UP MESSAGE APPEARS
ERROR : /dev/st0 file permission error

I have using back up tar command.


KINDLY GIVE ME THE INSTALLATION PROCESS IN SUSI LINUX 9
I HAVE NOT INSTALL ANY DRIVER

AUTO-LOADER SHOW IN POST

HOW CAN I CHECK THE AUTO-LOADR IN susi LINUX WHICH IS CONFIGURE PROPERLY or not.

I don't have a SuSE 9 system available for checking its default device permissions, but I assume it is somewhat similar to RedHat Enterprise Linux.

The robotics part of the autoloader is typically commanded through a /dev/sg* device, using the "mtx" tool. To enable the /dev/sg* devices, you may need to load the "sg" module: the command is "modprobe sg".

Since the /dev/sg* devices are generic SCSI control devices, they are probably accessible by root only: if a non-root user needs to access them, you must adjust the device permissions to suit your requirements.
