how to extend root file system under lvm safely?
Hi,
I want to extend size of my root file system in lvm. is it require to unmount file system or run e2fsck in this procedure. please
give me step by step procedure.

After I extended logical volume for / file system it was not showing me increased space in df output. I rebooted the to make changes affect. but after reboot it asked me to run fsck manually.. could anyone please tell me why this is happening?

Did you extend the file system after you extended the logical volume? If not, that's probably the problem.
