Re: How to replace the LVM failed Disk in RHEL 5?
It kind of depends on some things:
a) is it an lvm mirrored disk?
b) is it a boot disk?
c) has it totally failed out, or is it presenting some things as unsync'd
d) If it has totally failed out (can't see the hardware), have you rebooted yet?
Another suggestion, look in the hp docs section for a paper called somethig "When good disks go bad". That paper will take you through the above questions and walk you through what you need to do.
Be aware that the paper is for HP/UX not Linux, but the parts that discuss lvm commands will be very close. In a few rare cases you'll have to read the lvm man pages on your Linux machine to get the difference, but they are pretty small.
