HP xw8400 workstaion nvdia quadro fx 4500 driver installation

[Problem]

Dear all,
I am having HP xw84000 workstaion i have installed red hat linux 4 64 bit os but now i need to install nvdia qadro fx 4500 graphics card driver. have downloaded the NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-260.19.12.run file. But dont know how to install can some one help. I have tried doing
#./NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-260.19.12.run. But gives error as (You appear to be running an X server; please exit x before installing.)

Please help.

Well, are you running an X server (graphical display) while trying to run the setup? You either would run something like "startx" to manually start it from the console, or have it set up to start in runlevel 5 automatically.

One thing you can try is opening a terminal window, log in as root (su -) and run 'init 3'. The init 3 command Will take you to runlevel 3, which will by default shut down your windowing system.

Then, from the text console, log in and try the script again.
