Re: IBM Java / Sun Java

Shalom,

You need to patch each java separately.

IBM and Sun Java are two different binaries and if they need a patch, you need to get it from the vendor and install it for each set of binaries.

Re: IBM Java / Sun Java

Praveen,

to find out which Java you are using
java -version
java -fullversion

in the top few lines, it will show you somwhere on the line IBM.

I have Sun java (used for oracle apps)
here is the output
jdk/bin/java -version
java version "1.5.0_11"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_11-b03)
Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (build 1.5.0_11-b03, mixed mode)

using tzupdater (this will clearly show you the vendor)

/u01/app/oracle/product/10.1.3/OracleAS_2/jdk/bin/java -jar tzupdater.jar -t -v
java.home: /u01/app/oracle/product/10.1.3/OracleAS_2/jdk/jre
java.vendor: Sun Microsystems Inc.
java.version: 1.5.0_11
