Installation of SLES 10 SP1 on RXI 300(Itanium)
Fujistu SEIMENS RXI 300 is not certified with SLES 10 yet, but it is certified with SLES 9 SP 3.
I have to install the SLES 10 SP1 on RXI 300(Itanium processor).
AND
I Never have installed Linux on Itanium.
Read two docs to gather information about installation on Itanium Servers
http://docs.hp.com/en/5991-5302/5991-5302.pdf
and
www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/enterprise/RHEL-3-Manual/pdf/rhel-ig-x8664-multi-en.pdf
Confusion
------------------
redhat guide instructs a FAT16 partition with the mount point of /boot/efi. while the hp guide to install sles 9 on itanium doesnt instruct to create a /boot/efi partition.
what to do ? I mean creating a /boot/efi is a redhat specific thing ? or is this a installation requirement of LINUX on Itanium ?
Need help disparately
Regards
