Installing HP-UX through virtual media

I have HP-UX ISO images in one windows box. I am trying to installing HP-UX in one blade server from these images.

When i am trying to install, i am getting one error message. I have attached the error message.

Your method is not an acceptable installation method for HP-UX. You can set up an HP-UX based Ignite server. This is a properly supported method of installation.

I'm surprised the install got as far as it did.

2 possible issues:

1) firmware update probably needed

2) install media is not new enough to support the hardware.

In the above document, it says that

"On some hardware configurations, HP-UX operating system
installation using iLO/vMedia may halt after the install kernel has
booted and state that it could not find the source device. If that
happens, the installation will not succeed and the customer must
use the HP-UX 11iv2 OE Update for December 2007 instead. If the
install kernel does find the source device, then the installation will
proceed as normal to completion."


Is my problem relate to this ?

I am using june 2007 media. HP-UX 11.2.3 IA.

Certainly suggests that is your issue. I'd suggest getting newer media if at all possible. Otherwise, you will need to go the Ignite server route or perhaps a USB DVD connected via the dongle.
