Regarding the installation:

You can install via

- iLO (vMedia) - make sure all firmware is up to date)
- external DVD drive connected to the blade
- external DVD assigned via the enclosure
- ignite (this is the fastest)
- drive roaming (insert a set of disks that have the OS installed)

That's true. But you can have a trial license for unlocking iLO Advanced Features (like Virtual Media) It is valid for 60 days.

On BL8x0 i2 blades the license is included (and for those prices it better be! ;-)

The button to launch vMedia is hidden in the upper right title bar when you select 'Virtual Media' in the iLO3 web interface.
