installing redhat 6 update 4 on dl380 g6

i am going to install redhat 5.4 on dl380 g6 server.
but the point is that i am going to introduce raw disks to operating system. by creating array every thing would be good. but is there any way to install os without creating logical drives in controller layer or not
thanks in advance

Is not possible to use the disk in the array without creating a logica drive in the controller layer.

Shalom,

You must partition the drive and use onboard utilities prior to the install.

There is no alternative.

RHEL 5.4 is supported on the G6 but only after logical drives are created.

I assume you are talking internal PXXX raid controller ?

if so then I agree with the others. you must configure each internal drive in the raid level of your choice using the acucli accessed via F8 during boot before the OS can even see them.

why you wouldn't want to? (curiosity)
