Integrity & Sun 9980 storage - "port security" and visible LUNs

I have an issue with RHEL4U4 (or U5) on some rx6600s. Single port QLogic HBAs.

Apparently there is some kind of "port security" on the Storage, and when it is "on" the servers cannot see the LUNs presented to them.

Anyone ever run into this? Is there a switch in the H-P driver to work with this security feature, or is there a driver at all that works with this feature?

Shalom,

Use lspci command to get the world wide name of the Qlogic HBA on your system. Its also probably stamped on the card or the box the card came with.

Then jump on your storage console and configure the disk and assign a LUN to the World Wide Name of the NIC.

Can't help you with the storage. You should check to see if the storage is compatible with the Qlogic card built in those rx6600 systems.

Red Hat ships with drivers for all Qlogic cards as far as I know.

Thank you Stephen. I should have added a little clarity:
The HBAs can see the storage correctly
The Storage can see the HBAs correctly
Zones are set, host types are set, EVERYTHING "should" be all set, but when this port security feature is turned on (on the Storage) we cannot see the LUNs any longer. When off, all is well.....

We are, in fact, NOT running a supported HBA (another issue but not as critical as this one).

And FYI, H-P says NONE of the kernel based drivers will work, you have to use H-Ps (I did not validate this but that is what the customer has stated - I'm not an Integrity guy typically).

The port security configuration at the storage side puts some king of limit on LUN visisbility.

How many ports are connected/configured to the said Linux server.Is that ports shared amonng Hetrogenious OS? I suspect the port security limits that port to be used by only a single OS.

The SUN/HDS 9980 is the same as an HP XP1024.

It explains everything. Note that you will have to use Hitachi's tools for configuring the array rather than HP's Command View, but I think you should be able to figure that part out.
