Re: Large file(s) in /var/opt/psb/db/

Large file(s) in /var/opt/psb/db/

Recently, I found that one of the HPUX servers was getting tight on space in /var./  Checking on it, I found that the space was being used in /var/opt/psb/db/pgsql/base/...

In an attempt to resolve this, I followed this - which helped with getting some immediate space back -

https://community.hpe.com/t5/System-Administration/var-space-hp-ux-11-31/m-p/6500890#M487166

and then I was looking at this as a possible longer term fix - step 3 was skipped:

https://community.hpe.com/t5/System-Administration/some-large-files-in-var-opt-psb-db-pgsql-base-lt-directories-gt/td-p/5668351#.VcxD5vgeFhE

Step 4 completed without issue, however, step 5 had an error - see output below.

I have not had any luck (yet) if figuring out how to resolve this error - have any of you run across this and fixed it?

Re: Large file(s) in /var/opt/psb/db/

Looks like the  sfmdb DB table is inconsistent and hence the provider is not able to create required entries in DB of sfm, it would be better to log a case with HPE support as they would provide the steps to rectify this sfm db entries.

Re: Large file(s) in /var/opt/psb/db/

and there is the rub... and why I asked here.  Old server, no HPE software support, only hardware thru 3rd party.

Re: Large file(s) in /var/opt/psb/db/

The reason is I also faced a similar issue with some other provider and i took help from HPE support and they logged in and fixed it.

Just my two cents can try to log a support case on time and material basis and see if HPE can help.
