Linux Patch Depot

Are there some documentation on REDHAT or other sites that would help me in creating a Linux Patch Depot. I am looking at something where if I apply a number of patches to my test servers in the SDLC( system Development Life Cycle) i can then freeze those patches so those could than be applied to Production once they have been tested.

Any clues
