Linux server freezes once in forty five minutes

Dear All,

We have intel server loaded with suse linux

and we are facing freezing problem once in

forty five minutes.

Pls note server is running with two processors

and 4Gb RAM.

In /var/log/messages i am getting the following

message

modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module block-major-90

in last of the file.



Pls help out , this is our batabase prodution

server.

block-major-90 refers to the 9th IDE disk interface, i.e. /dev/hdq and /dev/hdr.

The message is normal when something is trying to probe for a device that does not exist (either there is no such device in the system, or there is no driver configured for it).

You did not mention SuSE version number nor anything about your hardware model. Without this information it is kind of hard to diagnose the problem.

My Suse Linux version is 2.4.21-138-smp


Pls note that motherboad is based upon intel

It's not only the major 90 but the error

includes 60 also.


Pls reply me soon , my database is down.

Dear All


Pls note that te above problem goes crictical


Server gets hang after so that we can't get


access thru telnet.


Pls note we ned to do hard reboot.


Even Console get hangs .



Pls rply me as soon as possible.
