Non-root users unable to login to CDE after changing hostname using set_parms

Hi,

I just change the hostname of the server using set_parms hostname. After changing the hostname, i am unable to login to cde using other user accounts, only the root account would work. I read the manual for the set_parms command and it mentioned that using the command to change hostname could cause optionally installed softwares to not work properly. Is there anything else i have to configure in order to get the CDE to function?

Also, instead of using set_parms to change hostname, is it the same to just change the hostname in the hosts file and netconf file?

Thanks.

'set_parms hostname' is the safe/best way.
CDE login is there?
Or do you (other users) log-in another way?
Have you checked the logs in .dt directory of the users?
