Problem Ms Office temp file on SAMBA share.
Hello Expert,
We have encountered a problem on some WinXP Pro SP2 client saving Ms Office doc (Excel, Word) to samba share. It takes a _very_ long time to complete the operation. While on other PCs (same WinXP SP level) does not have this problem. And above all, we don't experience any problem copy/delete of other type of document/file on the said samba share. It only happen with Ms Office temporary file (~AsjkdK.doc for example). Does anybody has encounter the same problem? How to fix this issue? Samba is running on Linux RHES 3.
Thanks in advance.
rgds,
Mohd F.

Re: Problem Ms Office temp file on SAMBA share.
Shalom,
From what you say there is no Linux fix.
Other systems don't have this problem to the same share.
The evidence points to a problem with the PC not the Samba share.

I had a problem like that but it was a virus in the client computer.
