Now I have the problem that I want clone this System. On RAID 1+0 with 6 drive I muss have 3 pairs of drives. So I can remove 3 drives without data loss ( If I take the right ones).

So I want shutdown the system remove 3 drives put 3 new drives I it and rebuild it.

The 3 drives I have put out I will put in another DL380G3.

So the theory, but how can I find out which drive is a mirror from which drive? Why doesn't show the hpacucli the pairs?

Attached the output from hpaducli.

Re: RAID 1+0 find pairs for cloning

I think that your operation plan is too risky. Try cloning the system using mondo rescue.

Re: RAID 1+0 find pairs for cloning

N it is not to risky we did this here with raid1 in dl360G1 dl360G2 dl360g3 dl360g4 dl365 dl380G2 and so on more than thousend times with raid1.

On technical side this is complete without risk. You must only know the right pairs.

Re: RAID 1+0 find pairs for cloning

Shalom,

You can try and use acronis http://www.acronis.com to clone this system.

To insure recovery you will need a system with a similar i/o setup.

You should boot the system into smart array configuration mode to be sure of what drive is cloned to what before removing any drives.

You can use dd after boot to confirm that you are correct.

Ivan is correct though, pull the wrong drive say good bye to your data.

Re: RAID 1+0 find pairs for cloning

I still think is risky, in a RAID 1 configuration it's easy because there are only two disks involucrated. In a RAID 0+1 configuration, if you remove the wrong disk, you will loss all your data, but it's up.

Re: RAID 1+0 find pairs for cloning

Yes you are right, because this I'm looking for the feature that shows me the mirror pairs.

I thing this must be implementet in the array tools.
