re : upgrade of os 11.23 to 11.31

Hi Guys,
Can anyone advice how much time is needed to do incremental upgrade of os from 11.23 to 11.31 . Kindly advice

The recommendation of most users is to do a cold install.

Check if all of your hardware is supported by 11.31!

if you mean duration of installation probably it depends on your system.

We have used update-ux to update five systems from Dec. 2007 11.23 to March 2010 11.31. The update-ux step itself took about 2 hours for each system. We had no issues with it.

Three are rx3600 and two are rx6600. We used update-ux instead of cold install since four of the systems were using Serviceguard.

Of course, we spent a lot of time before the actual update day reading the manual and preparing for the process.

Creating a DRD clone and/or Ignite archive or tape will add time before the update and checking logs and doing other patches or customization will add time after the update.
