rhel won't reboot due to hp-health
Hi,
We have a couple of HP linux (RHEL 4 & 5) systems that won't reboot as scheduled due to hp-health.
As per the logs, it seems hp-health is not unloading sucessfully.
Shutting down Proliant System Health Monitor (hpasmd):
(hpasmd) may be in use. Please stop all agents before stopping hp-health
# ps -ef
:
:
root 19498 1 0 00:15 ? 00:00:00 /bin/bash /etc/rc.d/rc 6
root 20349 19498 0 00:15 ? 00:00:04 /bin/sh /etc/rc6.d/K02hp-health stop
Can you let me know if there is a compatibility issue regarding the new PSP ver. 8.6 with the following affected systems below?
We recently installed the version 8.6 rpm's for hp-health and hp-snmp for our hp systems and only we have the issue for these models. Latest models rebooted fine every week.

DL385 G1
DL380 G4

Re: rhel won't reboot due to hp-health
Likely.
But your best course of action is bring the matter to HP Support or do due dilgence on the HP Support Web site for Proliant Support Pack.

Re: rhel won't reboot due to hp-health
yes, already did those things. still waiting for hp support confirmation.
From the support and drivers page of hp site, although latest psp version is not available for download for them (found out from smartstart page too that support for them were remove from version 8.6).
But individual package(like hp system health and snmp)except for dl380 g4 have the latest version available for download for dl385 and dl585 server series which i assume are for G1 servers thus the confusion.
